Sometimes the map only tells half the story, and we need to draw on other sources to complete the picture for our audience. Mango makes it easy to display an image or link to a webpage, google doc, PDF, or display an image or video in your feature window.
Links
Links in the default popup
URLs to webpages, online files such as Google Docs or Dropbox links will automatically appear links in the default popup. The link text will be the field title.
Links in the Custom popup
To create custom links in the custom popup editor, use the insert link tool. Select the attribute variable that contains the URL, and set the text you wish to display for the link. This text can also be an attribute variable.
Images
Images in the default popup
To display images in your popup window you need to have image URLs in your attribute data. Using the default popup, Mango will automatically detect them and display them as images in your popup window.
To be detected as an image, the value in the attribute field must begin with ‘https’ and must end with a valid image file extension: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif.
Each feature can contain multiple images. For features with multiple images, the image will be displayed on a carousel in the popup window with arrows to the left and right to allow the map users to browse each of the images. When the user click on the image a full size version will be opened in a new browser tab.
Images in Custom feature popups
To display images in the Custom popup, use the image placeholder in the popup editor. Select the attribute variable that contains the image URL, and click insert.
